All Ella Jackson pieces are designed and made by hand at STUDIO Ella Jackson in Bellerive, Tasmania.

Yes. Every piece is individually cut, assembled and finished by hand in the studio.
What leather do you use?
Ella works primarily with full-grain and top-grain cowhide and kangaroo leathers sourced from trusted suppliers in Australia, New Zealand and Italy. Chosen for their strength, character and longevity, these leathers develop a rich patina with age and use.
All leathers used are by-products of the meat and dairy industries.
What is full-grain leather?
Full-grain leather is the highest quality part of the hide, retaining the natural grain surface. It is valued for its strength, durability and the way it develops character with age and use.
How does leather age over time?
Quality leather develops a natural patina through use. Rather than wearing out, it gains character, becoming softer, richer and more individual over time. With occasional care and conditioning, a well-made leather piece can be enjoyed for many years.
For ongoing care, STUDIO Ella Jackson's 100% natural leather conditioner is available to purchase in the studio.
What is slow fashion?
Slow fashion is an approach to design and production that values quality, longevity and responsible making. Rather than producing large volumes of trend-driven products, the focus is on creating fewer, better pieces that are made thoughtfully and built to last.
What pieces are currently available?
The current selection changes regularly. The best way to view available work is by visiting STUDIO Ella Jackson in person or following @ella_jackson_australia on Instagram.
What is the price range of Ella Jackson pieces?
Prices vary depending on the design and complexity of the piece. Small leather goods typically start from around $50, while larger bags range from approximately $250 to $800+.
Do you offer custom commissions?
Yes. A limited number of custom commissions are accepted each year.
How does the commission process work?
The process begins with a discussion about your requirements, followed by a design proposal and quotation.
Once the commission is confirmed, a 50% deposit is required before materials are ordered. The remaining balance is payable upon completion and prior to collection or shipping.
How long does a commission take?
Materials are typically ordered once the deposit has been received and generally arrive within 1–2 weeks.
Making time is usually 2–3 weeks once materials have arrived.
As a guide, most commissions require approximately 4–5 weeks from confirmation to completion. If your order is time-sensitive, please mention this when making your enquiry.
Can you make an urgent order?
Possibly. Urgent orders may be accommodated depending on current workload and material availability. Please specify your required timeframe when enquiring.
Do you repair leather goods?
No. STUDIO Ella Jackson is a design and making studio rather than a repair service, and repairs are not currently offered.
Do you ship Australia-wide?
Yes. Pieces can be shipped throughout Australia.
Do you ship internationally?
International shipping may be available depending on the destination. Please enquire for details.
Is Ella Jackson Australia stocked anywhere else?

Does the studio host workshops or events?
The studio is available to hire for workshops, classes, meetings and small creative gatherings hosted by others. Availability varies throughout the year.
How do I care for my leather piece?
Leather benefits from occasional conditioning and should be protected from prolonged moisture, excessive heat and direct sunlight. With regular use and care, quality leather will age beautifully, developing a rich patina unique to its owner.
For ongoing care, STUDIO Ella Jackson offers a 100% natural leather conditioner, made in-house and available in the studio.
